Sharing My Experiences On Marketing On Twitter
Programs to automate marketing on Twitter were being heavily promoted a couple of ago. It was considered that Twitter was one of the best ways to build a list and to get people to purchase the products you are advertising. But the question is, were any of those MLM business tools that were promoted, actually doing you any good? We shall now discuss Twitter marketing and whether or not it is worth your time and expense as part of your IM tactic.
Like many of you, when all the tools came out to help people build a huge My Lead System Pro following that you could promote to, I decided to check out. I signed up for programs that promised to get me followers on Twitter and bought software tools to help advertise my products. In all, I ended up buying about eight different programs that would aid me with all of this.
One of these programs was an automatic ‘people follower’ on Twitter with the aim that some of those people would follow me back. Then there was the program that would un-follow those who were not following me. This way I could be following those who might follow me reciprocally. Amongst other programs I purchased, there was one program which automatically tweeted a blog post just as soon as it was posted to my blog. I must say that the combined effect of utilizing all these programs together produced superb results since each program did as advertised. I was rapidly brought down to earth when I went over my spreadsheet and saw that I wasn’t actually generating any money! I would post to my blog 10 times a day and those blog posts would be displayed directly on Twitter just like they should. Then I discovered a way to have all the blog posts done for me automatically, believing that the more posts I would have the more folks who would see them.
The results of my attempts are as follows: After three years utilizing these methods, I had amassed almost 10,000 Twitter followers. And although you may think that is terrific, wait ’til you hear the whole story. Also in the past three years I have had over 15,000 of my blog posts that were advertising affiliate products tweeted to my Twitter account. Other than that, I did no extra promotion for that blog, in fact I didn’t even ping the new blog entries to see how good Twitter was could be. Well I learned, in the last 3 years I pulled in 2 affiliate sales for a total of $48, and I pulled in $8.52 with Adsense. And that specific blog only receives about 2 to 4 visitors each day from Twitter.
Even with close on 10,000 Twitter followers and using software automation, it seems that this is not sufficient to pull in money marketing with Twitter. The bottom line is that the money I’ve pulled in is not enough to cover the cost of the Twitter tools I purchased to start with. There could be other better methods of promoting on Twitter, but from my experience, using automatic software tools is not one of them.
